Visitation from Embassy of Republic of Kenya in Japan in January 27th

Hello, everyone.
This is TAKAYUKI KONDO.
Last January 27th, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kenya H.E. Mr. Solomon K. Maina, Counselor I Mr. Julius K. Kithamba and some members of JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) visited us.

H.E. Mr. Solomon K. Maina came to Kanazawa after giving a speech in a seminar organized by JICA in Toyama; “Africa’s development and business opportunities”. Our company, Kaiho Sangyo, has a strong connection with Kenya so that we invited him to visit us in Ishikawa.

We explained him about us, our activities in Africa and our approach to the “venous industry” with the aim to improve the environment of all over the World, of course, including Africa.

He commented to us ‘It is really nice business!’ again and again because the Environmental issue is also a big problem in Africa.

Kenya is importing about 3,000 used cars from Japan every month.
Business related to used cars are growing but the process of recycle treatment is not enough. So many old used car are left as it is.

Nigeria has the same problem as Kenya.
H.E. Mr. Solomon K. Maina said that “We have to solve this problem by implanting a system and a plant for recycling old used cars.”

In 2009, Minister of Justice of Kenya told to our Chairman that “I’m thinking about introduce restrictions on the imported used engines because there are many used engines seriously damaged, impossible to reuse”.
That is the reason that KAIHO created PAS777. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VfMU0uJbVLY That was also connected to Kenya!
H.E. Mr. Solomon K. Maina took a look and admired the KRA system; KRA (Kaiho Recycler’s Alliance) Network links the ELV dismantlers and the Japanese used car dealers with overseas buyers. He said that “The KRA system is great. We, Kenya, want to introduce a tool similar to the KRA system, we have developed similar information technology.”

This year, TICAD6 will be launched.

Last 5 times has held in Japan but TICAD6 will be held in Kenya. It will be the first time to held TICAD in Africa.
H.E. Mr. Solomon K. Maina told me that ”We want Kaiho Sangyo to take part on TICAD6 and have a speech about the importance of recycling cars in Africa.” That is a great comment for us! Of course, we will positively consider about it.
